Kiwanis Club of Bloomington produces the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast & Antique Model A Ford Show annually in April and Operation: Chili for Children in October while Kiwanis Club of South Central Indiana produces the Kiwanis Indiana Balloon Fest in September.  Our Kiwanis Club has invited Kiwanis Club of South Central Indiana to spotlight the Kiwanis Indiana Balloon Fest at this week's lunch.

Attendees will meet the newly crowned Miss Kiwanis Balloon Fest Braxton Hiser as well as 2017 Kiwanis Idol Errika Light and Kiwanis Idol Teen Duncan Bowman.  Hiser, an IU Junior, will sing “Pulled,” the song she performed at the Miss Kiwanis Balloon Fest Scholarship Pageant in February.  Light and Bowman will perform the songs that won them their titles at last year’s Kiwanis Idol competition at the 2017 Balloon Fest.  Light, mother to a two year old, lives in Linton.  Bowman is an eighth grader at Jackson Creek Middle School and has  appeared in two musicals at Cardinal Stage Company.  Indiana Balloon Fest chair Vanessa McClary will present an overview of the September 7 to 9 Kiwanis Indiana Balloon Fest and give away copies of the 2018 Indiana Festival Guide.

The results from the 2016 Operation: Chili for Children are in! The Kiwanis Club of Bloomington raised $3600 at this event for Visually Impaired Preschool Services, American Legion Auxiliary Hoosier Girls State and Kiwanis Youth Programs! Checks for $1200 each were presented at the Kiwanis Holiday Party on December 1st!
