IU is in the spotlight this week.  Pageantry at IU, a student organization which we support, produces the Miss IU Scholarship Pageant which is an official preliminary to the Miss Indiana Scholarship Pageant which provides the contestants for the Miss American Pageant.   The year’s Miss IU competition is February 18.  The newly crowned Miss IU will make her first official public appearance (class schedule permitting) at Kiwanis and give a brief description of her platform and her volunteer plans at IU and with Kiwanis for the coming year.    Following will be a presentation by Jeremy Hackerd, Project Manager at the IU Office of the Bicentennial.  He'll focus on the planned events from now through 2020.  He'll distribute a number of IU Bicentennial promo items as well as brochures and beef up our 50/50 raffle with some IU Bicentennial swag

The results from the 2016 Operation: Chili for Children are in! The Kiwanis Club of Bloomington raised $3600 at this event for Visually Impaired Preschool Services, American Legion Auxiliary Hoosier Girls State and Kiwanis Youth Programs! Checks for $1200 each were presented at the Kiwanis Holiday Party on December 1st!
