Founded in 1920, the Kiwanis Club of Bloomington meets every Thursday for lunch in the Indiana Memorial Union Building.

"You're a Grand Old Flag," a Flag Day salute to the United States flag

Gregory Wang and Benjamin Bird will perform "The National Anthem" and "You're a Grand Old Flag" and Phillip Addison will present the slideshow and talk.  Wang is an award winning, critically acclaimed pianist.  A graduate of Oberlin College Conservatory, he holds a Masters, Artist Diploma and Performer's Certificate from IU's Jacobs School of Music under the tutelage of Jean-Louis Haguenauer. He's currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree with Menahem Pressler.  Bird, a tenor, is currently a doctoral student in the voice program at Jacobs School of Music.  He recently performed in IU Opera Theater's "Ariadne and Naxos" and sings in the United Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir.  Addison is an actor, director, weather forecaster and vexillologist.  A graduate of Ivy Tech Community College and IU, his interests also include food retailing. Vexillology is the study of the history, symbolism and usage of flags which Addison has actively pursued since high school.

The results from the 2016 Operation: Chili for Children are in! The Kiwanis Club of Bloomington raised $3600 at this event for Visually Impaired Preschool Services, American Legion Auxiliary Hoosier Girls State and Kiwanis Youth Programs! Checks for $1200 each were presented at the Kiwanis Holiday Party on December 1st!

                               

The above picture to the left features Kiwanian and Ivy Tech Professor Donn Hall passing out flyers and coupons to promote two of our major fundraisers: The Antique Model A Ford Show and Pancake Breakfast and Operation: Chili for Children.  To the right, we have Miss Indiana University Lauren Mnayarji accompaninging Kiwanis at the 2015 Heritage Days Parade and signing autographs.
